The agency's vision is a transportation system that provides equitable mobility for all residents and visitors, is environmentally sustainable and built to adapt to the threat of climate change, and is driven by human power and clean energy. We are responsible for a vast network of public infrastructure, including planning, design, construction, maintenance, and management of roads, sidewalks, bridges, traffic signals and signs, crosswalks, bus stops, bike lanes, streetlights, plazas – even the Staten Island Ferry.
