Join us for an evening with acclaimed studio potter Gay Smith, whose bold, colorful ceramics are known for their lively forms and everyday beauty. Based in the mountains of North Carolina, Gay has spent decades making pottery that brings art into daily life—cups, bowls, teapots, and more—each one made to be used and enjoyed.
Her work is held in museum collections around the world, including the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC, and the Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan. She has taught at renowned craft schools and universities across the country, such as Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Penland School, and the Harvard Ceramics Studio.
Whether you're a potter, an art lover, or simply curious, this is a wonderful chance to connect with a master craftsperson and storyteller.
